The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are being patient with their attempt to trade for cornerback Darrell Revis, according to The Tampa Tribune.
Darrelle Revis trade rumors: Buccaneers could wait on a deal
Tampa Bay can take its time making a move for Darrelle Revis.
With a dwindling market for corners, the Bucs can take their time at this point in finding the right player, whether that is Revis or another man on the free agent circuit.
The New York Jets standout, shutdown corner has made it clear he wants a new contract and the Jets aren't willing to give him one, putting him squarely on the trading block. Tampa has a need at corner after watching Eric Wright fail miserably in 2012 as the top defensive back following a big free agent deal last offseason.
New York needs to move Revis by June 1 if he doesn’t fit into their long-term plans. The Jets would be on the hook for a ton of guaranteed money going forward, something owner Woody Johnson and new general manager John Idzik want no part of.
