Dallas Cowboys free agent outside linebacker Victor Butler is taking a physical with the Cleveland Browns, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The physical is taking place on Monday, though the Browns aren't the only interested team.
Browns rumors: Victor Butler visits, takes physical in Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns could be on the verge of out-bidding the Saints for the second time this free agency period, as Victor Butler is taking a physical with the team on Monday.

Most recently, Butler took a visit with the New Orleans Saints and according to Rapoport, he took a physical with them as well. It's unclear if he failed a physical with the Saints or not, as that is usually the last step prior to a team signing the player. It's possible that Butler wanted to visit the Browns before agreeing with the Saints.
It's likely it will come down to one of these teams, though the Saints seem to make more sense. They have a big need at the outside linebacker position, while the Browns have been fairly active in bringing in guys, including Paul Kruger. As it happens, the Browns reportedly outbid the Saints for Kruger's services earlier in free agency.
Butler has served as a backup to DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer for the past four seasons and has 73 tackles, five forced fumbles and 11 sacks over that period of time. He had three sacks and two forced fumbles last season. He has history with Rob Ryan, the new defensive coordinator of the Saints, as he was the DC for the Cowboys during Butler's time with the team.
