There's still some solid names available in free agency, and the market for those players should heat up significantly as the 2013 NFL Draft approaches. This week has primarily been filled with speculation regarding cornerback Antoine Winfield, but there was a surprise on Wednesday, as the New England Patriots attempted to sign restricted free agent Emmanuel Sanders away from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Plenty is going on right now in the NFL. Cornerback Antoine Winfield is still a possibility for the Seattle Seahawks, and the Pittsburgh Steelers need to make a decision on Emmanuel Sanders.
New England signed Sanders to a $2.5 million offer sheet, and if the Steelers want, they can match it. If not, they will receive New England’s third-round pick as compensation. But as noted at Behind The Steel Curtain, the Steelers are expected to match the offer sheet, or at least Ed Werder seems to think they will.
In other news, the NFL sent out a release on Wednesday confirming 23 attendees for the NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Some of the top names in attendance include West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel, Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro and many more. Some names not in attendance? USC’s Matt Barkley and Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o.
As mentioned, Winfield is one of the top remaining names in free agency. He was one of the top cornerbacks when the period but remains unsigned to this point. On Wednesday, it was reported that the Seattle Seahawks were closing in on a deal to land the cornerback. Given that the team already has Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner, bringing in Winfield seems a little excessive, but that might be the point.

Lastly, if you missed it in our previous roundup, the two actual roster moves on Wednesday included the Cincinnati Bengals releasing cornerback Jason Allen to save some cap space, and the Oakland Raiders signing quarterback Seneca Wallace to add a veteran presence.
