It's been a big couple days in the NFL after a brief free agency lull. Teams are making trades and the next tier of free agents are taking visits and finding homes for the 2013 season. All of the big news has been surrounding quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Flynn, who will both have new teams for 2013.

The Niners helped welcome Asomugha back to the Bay Area, while Plamer departs Northern California and was immediately named the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals following a trade. Plenty more happened on Tuesday, as well.
Teams are making deals well in advance of the NFL Draft, and it’s no surprise that quarterbacks are a hot commodity given the relative weakness of the quarterback class in the draft. It will be interesting to see how many first-round quarterbacks there are after all of these trades.
At any rate, we’re going to take a look at what went down on Tuesday, primarily in the afternoon through the evening. Let’s get started below.
The San Francisco 49ers added free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha on Tuesday. The team signed him to a one-year contract with a base salary of jut $1.35 million, which is basically a steal at this point. He's 31 years old, but can still be a productive starter and it might just end up being the best signing the 49ers have made all offseason. Over at Niners Nation, they take a look at his contract and the depth chart post-signing.
While the Arizona Cardinals wanted you to believe that Drew Stanton was going to be their starting quarterback in 2013, they've since taken that back and named Carson Palmer the starter after the trade with the Oakland Raiders. Only time will tell if Palmer still has something left in the tank, but it's a pretty much near-unanimous opinion that Palmer has more to offer than Stanton.
While there's no solid rumors as to whether or not it's likely, the Chicago Bears have made it clear that they're not ruling out bringing back linebacker Brian Urlacher. That's huge, as the sides have reportedly been uninterested in contract talks for some time now. Will the two sides come together? That's anybody's guess, but it would be weird to see Urlacher wear another uniform in 2013.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have had one key to success in recent years: run the ball with Maurice Jones-Drew. He's been their star player, but has dealt with some injury concerns lately. On Tuesday, it was announced that he was cleared for jogging though, and is right on track with his recovery.
The Philadelphia Eagles have injuries to Jason Peters, Todd Herremans and Jason Kelce on their offensive line, but they're getting healthier. All three players stand a solid chance of being ready for the beginning of the regular season, but it was revealed on Tuesday that both Peters and Herremans were cleared or were about to be cleared for football activity in time for minicamps.
Defensive tackle Mike Patterson is following in Cullen Jenkins' footsteps, and made a visit with the New York Giants on Tuesday. He would be solid depth for the Giants, but isn't the top defensive lineman on the market. Nose tackle Alan Branch visited the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, and he might be one of the bigger names still available. That said, the Giants aren't looking for a nose guard, while the Bills are. Both players would be great fits for the teams they visited.
Brandon Albert skipped voluntary workouts with the Kansas City Chiefs, as he doesn't want to play on the franchise tender in 2013. Albert wants a long-term contract, and he made it clear that he won't be reporting to the team until he is certain about his future.
Pat White may have found his home on the comeback trail in the Washington Redskins. That honestly makes perfect sense for him as he will be able to run the offense that Robert Griffin III runs if he absolutely needs to. On the other hand, the Seahawks could be after Tyler Thigpen after trading Matt Flynn, and it seems like a solid backup option.
