Police interested in Aaron Hernandez’s fiancee Shayanna Jenkins

The Hernandez case has taken another twist with attention turning to the former NFL star’s fiancee.

Authorities investigating the murder of Odin Lloyd have turned their attention to Aaron Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, according to The Hartford Courant.

Police searched a storage unit in Bristol, Conn., rented in Jenkins’ name on July 26. According to court documents, authorities believe she intentionally misled investigators and hid evidence. To this point, Jenkins has not been charged with any crime.

According to documents released by authorities, Jenkins may know what happened to the gun involved in the murder of Lloyd because of text messages and surveillance video obtained. On June 18, the day after Lloyd’s body was discovered, surveillance footage revealed Jenkins taking a black garbage bag out of Hernandez’s home with a “rigid object” inside, according to the report.

Jenkins placed the bag in a red Nissan Sentra and then headed toward Landry Avenue, where the police found a .22-caliber handgun the following day. The gun is believed to be the one Ernest Wallace, also charged in the killing of Lloyd, had the night of the alleged murder.

Hernandez was seen on video carrying a .45-caliber Glock pistol, reportedly believed to be the murder weapon.

Hernandez is currently jailed, awaiting the outcome of a grand jury investigation.
