Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has allegedly been linked to a gun used in two 2012 murders, according to a report from CBS3 in Springfield, Mass. This is a different weapon than the one used in the murder of Odin Lloyd, of which authorities are still searching. Hernandez is currently awaiting trial on charges related to Lloyd's death.

A gun used in a 2012 murder has surfaced, and may have links to the former New England Patriots’ right end.

The weapon in this latest development, however, was found following a June car accident involving Jailene Diaz-Ramos, of Bristol, Conn. Police discovered a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver inside a case in the trunk of the car, which they then sent in for ballistic testing. The results of the tests showed that the weapon was used to kill two men outside a Boston bar in 2012.
Diaz-Ramos revealed in police interviews that the gun belonged to a friend she referred to as “Chicago,” who was a football player. Diaz-Ramos indicated she used to drive him to work, and that he asked her to hold onto the gun so he wouldn’t need to bring it to work. She was charged with illegal possession of a gun and ammunition, and released on a $1,000 bond.
Police are now investigating Hernandez’s link to the weapon.
