The New York Giants got a head start on roster cuts Sunday, getting their roster down to 75 players two days before the Tuesday deadline. They released 14 players and placed safety Stevie Brown on injured reserve with a torn ACL.
NFL roster cuts: Giants cut 14 players, including Aaron Curry
Aaron Curry was probably the biggest name sent packing Sunday as the Giants get their roster down to 75 players.

The biggest name to be cut was linebacker Aaron Curry. Curry was a No. 4 overall pick with the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, but he's been a massive disappointment and was traded to the Oakland Raiders just two years later. The Raiders released him early in the 2012 season after a series of injuries. The Giants were his third team in almost four years.
Here's the complete list of cut players, via Giants blog Big Blue View: Fullback Ben Guidugli, wide receivers Brandon Collins and Terrence Sinkfield; tight ends Jamie Childers and Chase Clement; offensive linemen Michael Jasper and Austin Holtz; linebackers Jake Muasau and Etienne Sabino; defensive tackle Frank Okam; and defensive backs Laron Scott, Junior Mertile and Alonzo Tweedy.
