ElsaRaiders release Kluwe

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsKing was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State in 2012, but spent his rookie year on injured reserve. The Raiders kept two punters on the roster following Saturday’s cut deadline, but it now looks like they’ll go with just one. King’s big leg and age (he turns 25 in October) gave him an advantage over Kluwe, who is now 31 and had declining numbers over the past few seasons. Given the Raiders’ offensive woes, King looks to get plenty of gametime experience in his second season.
