The New York Jets released quarterback Greg McElroy, tackle Jason Smith and more to get to the 53-man limit on Saturday.

The full list of cuts are listed below:
Quarterback Greg McElroy, running back Mossis Madu, wide receivers Michael Campbell, Mohamed Massaquoi, Ben Obomanu and Zach Rogers, tight end Chris Pantale, offensive linemen Erik Cook, J.B. Shugarts and Jason Smith, defensive linemen Junior Aumavae, Lanier Coleman, Tevita Finau and Antonio Garay, linebackers Troy Davis, JoJo Dickson and Jacquies Smith, defensive backs Royce Adams, Mike Edwards and Rontez Miles and kicker Dan Carpenter.
McElroy was waived with an injury and could find himself on injured reserve if he goes unclaimed. Running back Mike Goodson was moved from the non-football injury list to the reserve/suspended list and will not count against the team's roster for four weeks.
Carpenter was brought in to briefly compete with Nick Folk, but didn't have much of an opportunity to make a real competition out of it.
