49ers roster cuts 2013: Austin Collie, 20 others released

The 49ers released five receivers and 16 other players on Saturday.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the release of 21 players on Saturday, including five wide receivers, to cut their roster down to the league-mandated 53-player limit prior to the 6 p.m. deadline.

The full list of players released is as follows:

T Carter Bykowski, WR Austin Collie, CB Marcus Cooper, TE MarQueis Gray, WR Chad Hall, RB Jewel Hampton, WR Lavelle Hawkins, LB Joe Holland, WR Chuck Jacobs, LS Brian Jennings, LB Travis Johnson, CB Darryl Morris, G Patrick Omameh, WR Kassim Osgood, NT Mike Purcell, S Trenton Robinson, FB Jason Schepler, S Michael Thomas, G Wayne Tribue, QB Seneca Wallace, T Kenny Wiggins

Even after the release of five wide receivers, the 49ers still have five on the roster, including the recently acquired Jonathan Baldwin, who earned a roster spot ahead of veterans Collie, Osgood and Hawkins.

The team also announced the move of Demarcus Dobbs to the reserve/suspended list, meaning he will not count against the team's 53-man roster.
