Patriots roster cuts: Tim Tebow released, Adrian Wilson on IR
The New England Patriots released 13 players and placed Adrian Wilson on injured reserve to make it to the 53-man roster limit on Saturday.
Wilson joined the team this offseason after 12 years with the Arizona Cardinals, but has been dealing with a hamstring injury, among others.
The biggest release is quarterback Tim Tebow, who seemed to receive his "last chance" in the NFL when the Patriots brought him in to compete for a backup spot. He still might catch on somewhere else, but the Patriots did sign him pretty late in the game, so it will be interesting to see how that happens.
A full list of players released is below:
Defensive linemen Jermaine Cunningham, Justin Francis and Marcus Forston, defensive backs Kanorris Davis, Justin Green and Stephon Morris, wide receiver Quentin Sims, running back George Winn, offensive lineman Chris McDonald, linebacker Jeff Tarpinian, punter Zoltan Mesko and quarterback Tim Tebow.
