NFL roster cuts: Raiders waive Omar Gaither, Andre Carter
The Oakland Raiders have made quite a few moves to make it to the 53-man limit on Saturday.

The team waived/injured offensive tackle Willie Smith and placed offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom on injured reserve. Additionally, they placed wide receiver Andre Holmes on the reserve/suspended list. The full list of the players released/waived is below:
Defensive linemen Andre Carter, Ryan Baker, Kurt Taufa'asua and David Baas, linebackers Omar Gaither, Billy Boyko and Chase Thomas, defensive backs Joselio Hanson, Reggie Smith, Chance Casey and Shelton Johnson, offensive linemen Tony Hills, Jason Foster and Lamar Mady, tight ends Richard Gordon and Brian Leonhardt, wide receivers Greg Jenkins and Conner Vernon, running back Deonte Williams and kicker Justin Medlock.
Some interesting names were ultimately cut, like Carter and Baas, both of whom were expected to contribute. Gordon was expected to earn a roster spot as the team needed able blockers and, of course, the Raiders kept two punters in veteran Chris Kluwe and Marquette King, so they have yet to decide on who has won that battle.
