Titans roster cuts: Kevin Walter moved to PUP, Markelle Martin waived/injured in advance of deadline

The Tennessee Titans placed Kevin Walter on the PUP and waived an injured Markelle Martin to get to the 75-man limit on Tuesday.

The Tennessee Titans only had to make two moves to get to the roster limit of 75 players on Tuesday. The team waived an injured Markelle Martin and placed Kevin Walter on the physically unable to perform list.

When Martin came to Tennessee, there was a lot of hype about him potentially contending and earning some playing time, but he’s been injured off and on since coming in last season, as noted by Music City Miracles. It’s likely his time is done in Tennessee, even if he makes it to injured reserve off the waiver list.

Walter is on the PUP list, which means he doesn’t count towards the 53-man roster limit, but he is ineligible to play until after the sixth week of the regular season.

The Titans only had to make the pair of moves due to the fact that they released multiple players on Monday. Tennessee will have to cut 22 more players in advance of the Saturday deadline following the fourth preseason game.
