Jaguars roster cuts: Marcus Trufant, Mike Kafka among 21 players released
The Jaguars have cut their roster down to 54 players.
Among those released were quarterbacks Mike Kafka and Matt Scott, leaving Ricky Stanzi as the third quarterback behind Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. The team also cut veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant after signing Will Blackmon this week.
The Jaguars will also receive a roster exemption for Justin Blackmon, who is suspended for the first four games of the regular season.
More cuts could be on the way in Jacksonville if the team brings on any players cut from other teams in recent days. NFL teams can begin to sign practice squad players beginning at noon on Sunday.
