Aaron Hernandez trial: Pair of associates ordered to appear before grand jury

One man had previously accused Hernandez in a civil suit of shooting him in the face after an argument.

The case around Aaron Hernandez’s legal trouble appears to be growing wider — and stranger — after two more men were ordered by a Massachusetts judge to testify in front of a grand jury. As the Associated Press reports, an arrest warrant was issued for Alexander Bradley, the same man who alleged in a civil suit that Hernandez shot him in the face in February.

Bradley has since not only failed to testify for the grand jury but also failed to appear at a Tuesday hearing to explain why he shouldn’t testify. That was enough for Hartford District Superior Court Judge Joan Alexander to issue the warrant.

Also ordered to testify was John Alcorn of Bristol, Ct. Alcorn is related to the deceased husband of Tanya Singleton, who is Hernandez’s cousin and who is currently being held without bail for also refusing to testify for a grand jury. A car that was rented out to Hernandez and also connected to two other homicides was found at a house where Singleton was staying.

There’s little to no value in speculating why Bradley and Singleton refused to testify, and it remains to be seen if Alcorn will cooperate in the investigation or not. For now by all indications the prosecutors are aggressive and focused on bringing Hernandez to justice.
