Matt Schaub has been a pretty good quarterback for the Houston Texans over the years. He was pretty good for the most part Sunday, going 31-for-49 with 355 yards, two touchdowns and two picks. But the second pick was returned for a touchdown that completed a huge Seahawks comeback and tied the game at 20, and when the Texans lost, 23-20, in overtime ... this happened:

Bob LeveyDefensive lineman Michael Bennett had a scary injury at the end of the second half. Bennett was bent backwards and lay on the turf for several minutes. He was loaded onto a stretcher and taken to the hospital as players from both teams gathered in prayer. Bennett is moving and has feeling in his extremities. The team is calling it a lower back injury.
The Seahawks opened as 2-point favorites and managed to cover with the overtime field goal.

Jody Gomez-USA TODAY SportsBennett was rushing Schaub late in the first half when his momentum carried him into Schaub’s hip as a pile of players came down on his back.
Trainers came out to take a look at Bennett and eventually placed him on a stretcher and took him into the locker room as his father watched from the stands. Seattle Times reporter Jerry Brewer reported that Bennett moved his legs at one point, a positive sign:

The Texans had been calling Johnson a game-time decision for most of the week, with coach Gary Kubiak stating he was encouraged by the receiver’s strong practice on Friday. There appears to be no plan to limit the veteran receiver’s snaps.
