2014 NFL playoffs: Wild Card weekend

Jim Harbaugh fears no one. Normally when he’s away from San Francisco, he has the power to heat his body with the intensity of a thousand suns, purely by will -- but that failed him in Green Bay.

He emerged from halftime wearing every piece of warm clothing the equipment team had to offer.

It’s very cold in Green Bay, but of course you already knew that. Muscle-bound NFL referee Ed Hochuli took the first step to super villain today.

Every story has a beginning, so remember this defining moment when we’re all running in fear.

The San Francisco 49ers lead the Green Bay Packers, 13-10, in a game defined by frigid weather and offenses slow to get going.

Dalton had three consecutive turnovers in the second half of the Bengals’ 27-10 loss and is now 0-3 in the playoffs. He has thrown just one touchdown to six interceptions in three postseason games.

The Bengals were trailing by just four points before Dalton’s turnover spree, but were outscored 20-0 in the second half. Midway through the third quarter, Dalton coughed it up for the first time when he fumbled diving untouched for a first down.

In victory, in defeat: there is nothing more beautiful than Philip Rivers’ expressions of joy/frustration/WOOOO/anger. He is the most facially expressive man in NFL football, by several standard deviations.

After Andy Dalton’s interceptions and hilarious fumble and several turnovers on downs, the Chargers pulled away, eventually winning 27-10. And Rivers gave his customary WOOO.

As the No. 6 and lowest remaining seed, the Chargers will travel to Denver to face the top-seeded Broncos, who have been resting and waiting this weekend with a first-round bye. The Broncos and Chargers split their regular season series, with Denver winning 28-20 in Week 10 and San Diego getting revenge with a 27-20 win on the road in Week 15.

Rogers injured his hamstring last weekend and was held out of practice for much of the week.

Hali was listed as questionable with a knee injury, but he participated in Friday’s practice and felt good in pregame warmups. The Chiefs could get an even bigger boost with Houston’s return. Houston hasn’t played since suffering an elbow injury in Week 12. Kansas City struggled with a hobbled defense down the stretch, losing five of their last seven games after starting the season 9-0.
