Aaron Hernandez indicted for July 2012 double murder

Hernandez finds himself in more legal trouble after being indicted on Thursday for a pair of killings that took place in Boston in 2012 .

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been indicted Thursday morning by a Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Grand Jury for a double murder that occurred in July 2012, according to Ted Daniel of FOX 25.

Hernandez is already facing a murder charge stemming from the death of Odin Lloyd at North Attleboro, Massachusetts back in June 2013. The double-murder in question deals with the slaying of Daniel Abreu, 28, and Safiro Furtado, 29. The two men were murdered in a drive-by shooting, according to Ted Daniel.

The Suffolk County District Attorney and the Boston police department will hold a news conference at 11:30 a.m. ET to discuss the happenings, per Jeremy Ryan of FOX.

Investigators have been looking at Hernandez as a possible suspect in this case since he was arrested in connection to the Lloyd murder. Officials reviewed video surveillance from a nightclub that Abreu and Furtado were at the night of their deaths and discovered Hernandez was also present.

The SUV that police suspect Hernandez used during the killings was parked in his cousin’s garage, Tonya Singleton, in Bristol, Connecticut. No motive for the killing has been released by investigators. Bristol police attained a search warrant to search and seize an SUV taken from the home of Hernandez’s uncle, which was suspected to be the vehicle used in the murders, per the New York Daily News back in January. When the car was discovered, it was covered in dust.

In the search-warrant affidavit, Bristol police said there is probable cause to believe that Hernandez was operating the vehicle suspected in the murders, and may have been the shooter in question.
