Highlights

Rob Kelley introduces himself as “Fat Rob.”

Aaron Rodgers got his face mask twisted on this play, but still managed to throw a touchdown pass for Green Bay.

After scoring a touchdown to retake the lead late in the second quarter, Washington inexplicably went for a 2-point conversion up three points.

Washington’s band in the cold played a very out of tune version of their fight song on Sunday night.

Washington owner enjoyed the victory so much, he danced by himself to ‘Jump Around.’

Before the game

After the most entertaining week of football this season, does primetime have another thriller in the works? All of the pieces are there to make it happen on Sunday Night Football when the Packers visit Washington.

Kirk Cousins and Co. are looking to keep pace with the surging New York Giants in the NFC East, while the Packers are looking to find a spark. After getting blown out by the Tennessee Titans, 47-25, last week, Green Bay is 4-5 on the year and losers of three straight.

Injuries certainly have a role here as the Packers have been relying on wideouts to fill in at tailback, but having James Starks back, and claiming Christine Michael from the Seattle Seahawks, should certainly give coach Mike McCarthy more options going forward. Starks rushed just seven times for 33 yards against Tennessee, but picked up a receiving touchdown in his first action since Week 5. Green Bay needs a statement game and it now has enough players healthy to show it’s a team that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Still, this one will likely be decided through the air. In each of their last three games, Rodgers has thrown for 914 yards and Cousins has thrown for 1,021. Plus, neither defense has been stellar at stopping the pass. Both running games are shaky, too. The Packers’ injury woes have hurt their running game, while Washington only recently turned to Rob Kelley, who rushed for a season-best 97 yards in his first start last week.

With Washington (5-3-1) coming off a win against the Vikings last week, it has a chance to not only knock the NFC North down a bit more, but give itself somewhat of a cushion with Dallas, Arizona, and Philadelphia all up next on the schedule.

Two teams fighting for a crucial win in primetime? Things could be worse.

The game will air on NBC at 8:30 p.m. and can be streamed live at NBC Sports.
