Most quarterbacks don’t throw touchdown passes with their bodies completely facing the sideline. Most quarterbacks don’t score touchdowns behind a throwing motion more at home near a dartboard. Russell Wilson is not most quarterbacks.
Russell Wilson’s off-balance flick throw somehow became a Seahawks TD
Wilson threw the ball like a drunk man tossing darts, and it still resulted in seven Seattle points.
Wilson avoided the Philadelphia pass rush on third-and-11, rolling to his left on what seemed to be a broken play. Spotting an open man downfield, he flipped the ball to tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham hauled down the pass, broke a tackle, and skittered into the end zone to complete a 35-yard touchdown pass.
Wilson was hampered by a nagging ankle injury through the first half of the season, seriously limiting the running ability and effectiveness of one of the league’s most explosive dual-threat quarterbacks. If Sunday’s performance against the Eagles is any indication, he’s feeling as good as ever.
