The Dallas Cowboys had won 11 straight games coming into Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants, but that streak has been broken. The Giants beat the Cowboys by a final score of 10-7 on Sunday.
Cowboys vs. Giants 2016 final score: New York completes season sweep of the top team in the NFC
Dallas’s win streak is snapped at 11 after Sunday night’s loss to the Giants.

This game featured a couple of lapses in coverage which led to scores for each team. The Giants failed to cover Terrance Williams in the first half, and Williams waltzed into the end zone for a touchdown.
After converting on a field goal, in the third quarter, the Giants took the lead on a 61-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr.
The Cowboys’ secondary was no match for Beckham’s speed on the play.
Both defenses were aggressive, and the Giants and Cowboys got pressure on the opposing quarterbacks. Prescott and Manning were sacked three times each, which contributed to the game developing into a low-scoring affair.
It was a contest marred by turnovers on each side. The Giants fumbled twice, including one where left tackle Ereck Flowers utterly failed to block the Cowboys’ Benson Mayowa. Manning also threw a pick in the fourth quarter after the Giants had taken a 10-7 lead over Dallas.
For Dallas, Dak Prescott threw two interceptions and fumbled once, though right tackle Doug Free recovered the ball. Dez Bryant coughed up the ball after his first catch of the evening, which came in the fourth quarter as Dallas was driving to try and tie or take the lead with just over two minutes remaining.
New York’s special teams were a big factor late in the game. With just over a minute left, the Giants pinned Dallas deep in their own territory, downing a punt at the Cowboys’ 3-yard line. Dallas was facing a fourth-and-10, and Prescott delivered a strike to Dez Bryant that was initially ruled complete.
Upon review, officials determined that Bryant did not complete the catch and reversed the call, securing the win for the Giants.
The Giants remain the only team to hand Dallas a loss this season.
The Cowboys have a playoff bid locked up, and at 11-2, they are still in the hunt to lock up the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. New York is second in the NFC East with a 9-4 record, and they’re in line for one of the wild card spots in the NFC.
