Adam McQuaid of the Boston Bruins wanted to plow through Mike Richards during the first period of Game 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers, but, well, he missed. By quite a bit.
Adam McQuaid Takes Header Into Boards After Missing Hit On Mike Richards
Richards avoided the check and McQuaid went flying head-first into the end boards. McQuaid stayed completely still on the ice for several seconds. It was scary and unfortunate and just one of those things that happens in this high-paced game sometimes.
See it after the jump.
All we have at the moment is the animated GIF, courtesy of Mocksession, which actually makes it look kind of funny. Think what you will, but know that McQuaid has been transported to Jefferson Hospital in Center City Philadelphia as a result of the hit. He’s reportedly alert and awake. Thankfully.
