David Krejci scored the overtime game-winner with six minutes remaining in the extra session, boosting the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 victory in Game 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers. It wasn't all sunshine and roses for the Bruins, though, despite the fact that they're leaving the City of Brotherly Love with two wins next to their name.

The Flyers dominated the entire third period and much of the overtime period, outshooting the Bruins by a count of 32-12 over that stretch. Luck wasn't on their side during that time, especially in the final few seconds of regulation as Danny Briere whiffed on a crack at a wide-open net. Indeed, the bounces did not go Philadelphia's way on this night.
That's not to take anything away from the brilliant performance of Tim Thomas, however. He made 52 saves in the victory, several of them flat out highway robbery on fantastic chances. He got lucky himself with the help of friends Post 1, Post 2 and crossbar, but the Bruins all talked after the game about how it was perhaps the best game they've ever seen Thomas play.
“If it was not for Timmy, we might not be standing here tonight with a win,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said after the game. “But that is what goaltenders do for you in playoffs. That is what you like to see, in order to certainly build some confidence on your team. When you know that the goaltender is there to bail you out, it certainly builds a lot of confidence, and Tim has given us that.”
Don't take that as a shot at the goaltending employed by the Philadelphia Flyers, of course. It's been a nightmare in net for the Flyers all playoff long, but in Game 2, they received competent, effective goaltending from both Brian Boucher and Sergei Bobrovsky. Wait, what? Yeah, they used two goalies again on Monday night after Boucher went to the locker room in the second period with Peter Laviolette called a "malfunction." He returned to start the third.
Adam McQuaid left the game in the first period after he took a tumble into the boards after missing a check on Flyers captain Mike Richards. He was sent to a Philadelphia hospital and released, and word is he'll travel back to Boston with the team. No word on his status for Game 3 on Wednesday night at TD Garden.
