It's no secret that it's probably going to be a long season for the Calgary Flames. But hey, at least Sean Monahan is around to provide a little bit of hope for the future.
Sean Monahan scores first NHL goal
Sean Monahan scored his first NHL goal for the Calgary Flames on Friday night. So at least the Flames have that going for them.
Right?!
Yes, we'll go with that. Monahan, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft, netted his first career NHL goal in the first period of Friday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets to give the Flames an early 1-0 lead.
Have a look:
Columbus evened the score a few minutes later, but the Flames would get a goal from T.J Galiardi shortly after the Blue Jackets’ equalizer, reclaiming the lead for the Flames. But as was the case in Washington on Thursday night when they allowed a three-goal lead to slip away, the Flames couldn’t hold onto the lead here either, letting the Blue Jackets even the score before the end of the period.
