Oilers vs. Blackhawks: Edmonton scores twice in thirty-six seconds
Mike Brown and Sam Gagner scored early to give the Oilers a lead over the Blackhawks.
After being shut out in back-to-back games, the Edmonton Oilers have rediscovered their offense against the league's best team.
Edmonton scored twice in 36 seconds and led by a score of 2-0 just three minutes into their game against the league-leading Chicago Blackhawks. The first goal, coming from recently-acquired enforcer Mike Brown, can be blamed squarely on Chicago goaltender Ray Emery, who looked to be off his angle on the shot. The next goal, scored by Sam Gagner, was simply the result of the Blackhawks scrambling around in their own end and failing to clear the puck out of the zone.
The Oilers scored another goal in the first period to take a 3-0 lead, and Ray Emery was pulled ... and then the Oilers added another before the period was done, making it 4-0.
The Chicago Blackhawks will need to pull themselves together and score a few goals tonight if they want to get started on their next incredible points streak.
