The Blackhawks showed some of that never-say-die attitude that helped them craft their streak, rallying back from a 4-0 deficit at the end of the first period, but eventually fell short and lost 6-5 to the Edmonton Oilers in a wild game that saw both teams pull their goalies. The Oilers handed the Blackhawks their first regulation loss at home this season.
2. Will the Penguins be without Evgeni Malkin once more?
Malkin sat out the game with an upper-body injury that will keep him out for one to two weeks, but his team rolled on without him. The Penguins dominated the Islanders and beat them 6-1 for their fifth victory in a row. The Islanders only had five total shots on goal at the half-way point of this game. Chris Kunitz had a hat trick. Sidney Crosby had assists.
3. Will the New Jersey Devils back up their words in front of backup Johan Hedberg?
The Devils came out strong early, scoring two goals in the first and giving Hedberg some insurance. The Jets came back to tie the game, but Hedberg was perfect in the shootout and the Devils prevailed 3-2.
4. Another “scoreboard” moment tonight in Detroit?
It was a much closer contest than Saturday’s 3-0 shutout win for Columbus, but the Blue Jackets won again, finishing out their season series against the Red Wings with nine of a possible ten points.
5. Can the Sharks avoid another slump?
The Sharks picked up another point, but lost the game against the Colorado Avalanche on a Matt Duschene goal in the last second of OT. San Jose continues to gather points even while playing poorly, but nothing about their performance Sunday night was especially inspiring.

What moment from last night’s games will be making headlines in the coming days?
Minnesota’s 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks moved them into first place in the Northwest division. That has to raise a few eyebrows around the league, since most assumed the Canucks would easily repeat as division champions.
