Bruins vs. Canadiens: Alexei Emelin injures himself on Lucic hit

The Great Wall of Lucic cannot be knocked down.

If someone did a player poll on which of their peers players would least like to try and throw a hit on, Milan Lucic would have to be pretty high on the list. He's certainly on Alexei Emelin's list now.

Emelin made the mistake of trying to clobber the Great Wall of Lucic on Saturday night, and the results were disastrous. Emelin had to leave his feet to make the hit and ended up getting knocked back about four or five feet onto the ice. It looked like Emelin twisted his knee on the way down, and he ended up hobbling off to the locker room.

I wonder if anyone will try running Lucic anytime soon after this incident. I mean, Lucic didn’t even move at all. Go outside, find a tennis ball and throw it at a brick wall. Congratulations! You’ve just recreated this exact play.
