Capitals vs. Panthers: Alex Ovechkin scores slick goal

That’s the Ovie we all know and love.

Alex Ovechkin gets a lot of criticism these days. But, boy, when he wants to turn it on offensively he's still just dazzling.

Ovechkin opened up Filip Kuba like a can of tomato soup with one of the most impressive goals of the season on Saturday. You knew he was about to do something special when he tried to deke past Kuba, but the play looked like it was over when Kuba stole the puck from him.

It was far from over. In one smooth motion, Ovechkin merely lifted Kuba's stick, grabbed the puck and fired an absolute firecracker past Jacob Markstrom from a ridiculous angle. I've watched the video five times and I'm still not sure what happened. It was a vintage jaw-dropping Ovechkin goal.
