So, just what happened to Atalanta today against Torino? La Dea were practically perfect in the first half, well, except for the minor detail of allowing a penalty. Still, they went into the break with a 1-1 scoreline, and nothing indicated the spectacular meltdown to follow. But meltdown Atalanta did, allowing four goals within fifteen minutes. Final score? 5-1 Torino.

Germán Denis kicked off the scoring, trying to show he's still got some left in the tank after last season's 16 goals. The Argentine pounced on a poor clearance and made Jean-Francois Gillet pay.
But that was the last time the home side would punish Torino. Ten minutes later, a desparate Giacomo Bonaventura used his arm to block a cross from Danilo D'Ambrosio. Rolando Bianchi took to the spot, easily beating Andrea Consigli.
Il granata, apparently spurred by a desire to prove who the real team in Turin are, one-upped neighbours Juventus. Alessandro kicked off the second-half scoring with a diving header in the 62nd minute. Alen Stevanović added another less than five minutes later with a fantastic volley.
Atalanta's defence, previously so stingy they'd allowed just four goals in five matches, completely lost the plot. D'Ambrosio was allowed a free header in the 73rd minute. Then came Bianchi again, pouncing on a pass from Stevanović . Even whilst slipping, the Torino captain managed to angle his shot under the bar and into the back of the net.
They might be nine points behind Juventus, but Torino are well on their way to ensuring that there will still be two Turin teams in Serie A next season.
