Palermo Vs Chievo: Final Score 4-1; Miccoli Magic Gets Palermo Off The Mark
A treble from Fabrizio Miccoli, including a sensational volley from the halfway line gave 10-man Palermo a crushing 4-1 win over Chievo Verona.

Step forward Fabrizio Miccoli. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Remarkably, the pint-sized Number 10 was making his first start under new coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Miccoli's first came after he curled a trademark free kick into the top corner, with a powerless Stefano Sorrentino punching the ball into the net.
Chievo equalised when a Marco Rigoni corner surprised everyone, including Samir Ujkani between the sticks.
Cue the second piece of Miccoli magic, beating several defenders, before finishing on the spin, with the ball going in at the near post.
Franco Brienza was sent off for a needless second yellow after sticking out an arm to prevent a counter attack. In other weeks, the wheels would have come off for Palermo, but this seemed to spur them on.
For the thrid goal, Miccole turned provider. After terrorising the Chievo defence and turning them inside out with some trickery, Sorrentino parried his shot into the path of a grateful Luigi Giorgi, who rifled the ball home.
Miccoli then completed his hat-trick in sensational style. Meeting the ball just past the halfway line, a hopeful volley flew over everyone including Sorrentino, with the ball bouncing on the goalline and nestling in the roof of the net.
“It was one of my best days,” Miccoli was quoted as saying in a post-match interview. Many Palermo fans will be echoing that statement tonight.
