Hertha Berlin and Mainz played to a scoreless draw in the capital in a match that neither side want to see replicated this season.
Hertha Berlin Vs. Mainz, 2011 Bundesliga: Mainz Winless In Last Eight With Scoreless Draw
With the draw, Mainz has now gone eight matches without a victory after they won the first two matches of the season. That run consists of five losses and now three draws. The point earned does pull Mainz out of the relegation zone. They now sit on eight points which is one point from safety. Hertha sit comfortable mid-table at the moment.
Mainz were on the attack early but pushed too many numbers up early and Raffael forced an excellent save out of Mainz goalkeeper Heinz Müller on the counter. Hertha goalkeeper Thomas Kraft was also tested on his end a few times by Andreas Ivanschitz.
It doesn’t get any easier for Mainz from here in there next two matches. Both are at home, but they are against Werder Bremen and Stuttgart who sit 4th and 3rd in the table respectively.
