Josh Wolff has opened the scoring, a little against the run of play. The Seattle Sounders are now behind after a slick counterattack saw Charlies Davies blaze down the right and square for Wolff in the middle, who made no mistake from very close range. It's not the first time DC United have conducted a dangerous attack - Andy Najar was unfortunate to have hit the post ten minutes prior to Wolff's goal - but in general the visitors were well on top of things.
DC United Vs. Seattle Sounders: Josh Wolff Gives Hosts 1-0 Lead
The Sounders will feel aggrieved to have what looked to be a legitimate goal by Nate Jaqua disallowed after a handball by Brad Evans in the penalty box (for some reason the referee opted to ignore that Evanswas pushing into the ball by a DC defender). Seattle are pushing a little too high up the pitch and allowing the speed of DC to hit them on the break. They might do a little better holding the ball for longer rather than having their central midfielders push up. Either way, the hosts have a nice 1-0 lead.
