Scott Palguta was the hero as the Colorado Rapids came from behind to earn three points against the Houston Dynamo. A stale first half failed to capture the imagination (three shots, all from the home side and from long range), and the second half didn't start out particularly well either. Then ex-Rapids midfielder Colin Clark netted from close range and things started going a little bit crazy.
Houston Dynamo Vs. Colorado Rapids: Late Goal Sees Colorado Win 2-1
Within three minutes, the Rapids were on level terms, Jamie Smith slotting home from close range after a colossal error from Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall. The drama wasn't over yet, however. Houston pressed to regain their lead, but it was the Rapids who ultimately earned the winner, Palguta firing home after a loose ball found him at the edge of the box, leaving Hall with no chance whatsoever. While Houston are left ruing missed opportunities and a blown lead at home, you'd have to imagine that the Rapids are ecstatic. With the three points today, they move into second place in the Western Conference.
