The week saw some streaks come to an end while other streaks got extended. Some wild goals were scored and naturally some bookings changed the course of a few games.

Philadelphia Union Vs. New York Red Bulls: Final Score 3-2; NYRB Win Topsy-Turvy Match
The Union played better football and probably had the better chances, but with finishing like that it’s impossible to say that they deserved to win.

Columbus Crew Vs. FC Dallas, 2012 MLS: Crew Finally Win
It would be hard not to blame Miranda’s goal on Dallas being down a man. Miranda was left completely unmarked at the top of the penalty area on a corner kick from Nemanja Vukovic. When the ball got to him, there wasn’t a defender within 10 yards.

Not only was it the Revolution’s first three-goal victory since April 10, 2010, but it was also a bit of a revenge game for Nguyen, who had been cut by the Whitecaps during the offseason before making an appearance. Nguyen has since established himself as a starter in New England, but had yet to have anything close to the breakout performance he had in this game.
The Whitecaps, who entered the game with the third fewest goals allowed in MLS, were clearly missing center back Jay DeMerit, who did not play.

Montreal Impact Vs. L.A. Galaxy, 2012 MLS: Beckham Grabs Point For Los Angeles
The Galaxy’s central defense pairing continued to allow Montreal to create simple chances for the remainder of the half, but only got to the halftime whistle without going down by multiple goals. Bruce Arena either said something or made significant locker room adjustments, because his Galaxy performed considerably better in the second half.
Over 60,000 were in attendance at Olympic Stadium for the game, setting a Canadian record for attendance at a professional soccer match.
