Roger Federer Downs Marin Cilic At US Open; Caroline Wozniacki Advances

Roger Federer is through to the fourth round of the 2011 US Open after taking care of Marin Cilic in four sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Federer was tested on Saturday, at least when compared to his first two matches of the tournament, which each lasted just three sets and were convincing wins.

In other action, Caroline Wozniacki easily took care of Vania King in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Wozniacki has played the minimum at the US Open thus far, downing all three of her opponents in a grand total of six sets, none of which were particularly close.

Francesca Schiavone was pushed to the brink in her third round match before finally putting away Chanelle Scheepers, 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. Schiavone battled back after dropping the first set and being pushed to a tiebreaker in the second to finish strong and take the fourth set in much more convincing action.

Mardy Fish is currently in action, leading his match, 6-4, 4-3 in the second set. Novak Djokovic takes the court later for a matchup with Nikolay Davydenko.
