The collision course of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic has come to fruition, as the top two seeds at the 2012 Western & Southern Open each won their semifinal matches in straight sets on Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati.

Federer, the tournament’s No. 1 seed, beat Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 on Saturday, while No. 2 seed Djokovic took care of No. 6 Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-2. Federer beat Djokovic in the 2010 Western & Southern Open, one of his four titles at the event.
On the women’s side, No. 9 seed Na Li beat Venus Williams in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 6-1. In the final Li will face No. 5 seed Angelique Kerber, who dispatched No. 4 seed Petra Kvitova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Kerber on Friday beat No. 2 seed Serena Williams in straight sets.
