Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford will join the Pawtucket Red Sox later this week for a two-game rehab assignment before he returns to the majors. Crawford injured his hamstring during a game with the Milwaukee Brewers and has been sidelined ever since.
Carl Crawford Injury: Rehab Assignment Sends Outfielder To Pawtucket Red Sox
Crawford will play left field on Friday and Saturday for Pawtucket when they host the Durham Bulls at McCoy Stadium. As long as all goes well in those games, Crawford should return to the Boston lineup on Monday, July 18, when the Red Sox play the Orioles in Baltimore.
The Red Sox start the second half of the season in Crawford’s old haunt down in Tropicana Field on Friday. Crawford had just one hit in 10 at-bats when he faced his former team in June.
