Boston Red Sox left fielder Carl Crawford has had a rough season to this point. He had a miserable April for his new team, and while his May was much, much better, he suffered a left hamstring injury before he could really catch fire. But after a lengthy rehab assignment, Crawford is returning to the Red Sox lineup on Monday night, hitting sixth and starting in left field.
Carl Crawford Returns To Red Sox Lineup On Monday
While Crawford was gone, the Red Sox played Josh Reddick, Darnell McDonald, and Yamaico Navarro in left field, with Reddick having the most success by far. Reddick was in the middle of a low-average/high-power season for triple-A Pawtucket, but he caught fire in Crawford's stead, hitting an impressive .352/.402/.634 with three home runs and three triples in 71 at-bats.
Crawford’s season line is at .243/.275/.384, which doesn’t sound great, but it is worlds better than the .155/.204/.227 line he featured at the end of April.
