Hurricane Irene Postpones Yankees/Orioles Doubleheader
Previously, the Orioles and the Yankees were to play two games on Saturday, and one game on Sunday. Now they will play no games on Saturday, two games on Sunday, and - possibly, probably - one game on Thursday, September 8, which was a mutual off day.
What this means for the Orioles is that, after Saturday, they should have one off day remaining on the schedule. For the Yankees, after Saturday, they also should have one off day remaining on the schedule. Coincidentally, just before the expected make-up game, the Orioles play a three-game series against the Yankees in New York from September 5-7.

Now, with the storm getting closer, that will be the only game played on Saturday, according to the Phillies’ official Twitter account:
So the Marlins and Phillies will play Friday night and then Saturday afternoon before both teams — and all Philadelphians — take shelter from the approaching storm.

Hurricane Irene, which is still bearing down on the East Coast and could make landfall near New York City on Sunday, has forced postponement of yet another major league baseball game.
According to Dave O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves/Mets game scheduled for Sunday at Citi Field has been postponed. In addition, Saturday’s game, which was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, has had its starting time moved up to 1 p.m. ET. That game was originally supposed to be one of Fox-TV’s four regional games on Saturday; there’s no word yet on whether Fox will still cover the game at its new starting time.
