Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is expected to return to game action tonight after sitting out the previous six games with a foot injury. However, Adam Schefter reports that Murray is expected to take on a limited role after such a long layoff.
DeMarco Murray injury update: Expected limited action on Sunday limits fantasy value
After a long layoff, how much can the Cowboys’ starting running back handle in his return? We break down the fantasy implications.
The Cowboys have struggled to run the ball consistently in the absence of Murray, and have rushed for at least 100 yards as a team only once without him (101 yards against the Eagles) with disappointing performances from Felix Jones, Philip Tanner and Lance Dunbar. Dallas plays Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football.
Fantasy Take: No Dallas running back besides Murray should be the only Cowboys in the backfield owned in fantasy leagues, but this does not seem like the best bet to start him after sitting out for so long. However, it’s very possible that he goes off against a struggling Eagles team.
