C.J. Spiller rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries during the Bills’ win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He was overshadowed by Fred Jackson, however, who had 109 yards on 25 carries. We break down the fantasy implications.
Bills head coach Chan Gailey named Spiller as the starter at running back before last week's game, and fulfilled his promised by giving Spiller 14 carries to six for Jackson against the Indianapolis Colts. Going forward, it is unclear who will get more touches out of the Bills' backfield.
Fantasy Impact: Gailey heeded the cries of fantasy owners everywhere last week, before doing an about face this week against the Jags. Jackson has been solid this season and throughout his career, granted, but few players in the league have been as explosive as Spiller. It’s curious that the coaching staff refuses to give Spiller a feature role, but yet here we are.
That said, Spiller was still plenty productive Sunday. Assuming the two backs continue their timeshare, their fantasy value is capped at RB2 status going forward.
