Week 12 of the 2017 regular season is just about coming to a close with the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.

We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the four major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change and news arrives. The following ownership percentages come via CBS Sportsline entering Week 13.
Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers (21 percent ownership)
The day may have arrived in the Bay. The extent of C.J. Beathard’s injury is still to be determined, but it seems likely that Jimmy G will get the call for Week 13 at Chicago. Garoppolo gave a quick taste of what the 49ers are hoping to see for the next decade, entering the game late and throwing a TD with no time left. He is easily the top waiver move of the week at quarterback, if not overall.
Bortles failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in six weeks, but he made up for it with a pair of touchdown runs, which helped him to one of his best weeks fantasy-wise of the season. But what really makes Bortles a great pickup this week is his upcoming schedule. In the playoff weeks 15 and 16, Bortles gets to face Houston and San Francisco, the two worst teams in the league against the QB position. With Leonard Fournette smack up against the rookie wall, Bortles might win someone a league.
Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings (61)
He’s seemingly a week-to-week proposition, as head coach Mike Zimmer won’t commit to him fully with Teddy Bridgewater waiting in the wings, but Keenum keeps coming through, topping 30 fantasy points twice in the past three weeks. He hasn’t thrown a pick in two straight games and is certainly viable as long as he keeps up his solid play.
Josh McCown, New York Jets (50)
McCown reintroduced himself to the fantasy world with his best game of the season against a good Panthers defense. It was the first time this season McCown threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns in the same game, and he did it without throwing a pick. His schedule for the next few weeks is not difficult, so he deserves a spot on the bench for emergency needs.
Gabbert has now put up 25 and 22 fantasy points in his two starts and gets a pair of bottom-five defenses against the QB position in Week 14 (Titans) and 16 (Giants). For season-long QB streamers about to hit critical weeks, Gabbert is a viable option.
