For most of the fantasy football world, their season is over. The championships were in Week 16, so congratulations if you won, and condolences if you lost. Now we sit back, prepare for the real-world NFL playoffs, and maybe start talking to our families again.

That is, unless you’re in one of those leagues that plays into Week 17, which is weird, but we’ll try to help you out anyway. Week 17 can be tricky from a fantasy standpoint, given the number of playoff teams likely to rest starters, and non-contenders phoning it in with nothing to play for.
Therefore, the main focus should be on targeting teams still fighting for a playoff spot, especially if they’re playing one of those checked-out teams. If you play in a keeper or dynasty league, it’s also not too early to start planning for 2018, so take a look at some young names on the waiver wire who could be next year’s breakout stars.
With that in mind, for one final time this season, let’s look at the top waiver wire wide receivers, owned in 50 percent or less of Yahoo! leagues.
Dede Westbrook, Jacksonville Jaguars (46 percent)
Westbrook is operating as the de facto No. 1 receiver with Marqise Lee out, though he’s still splitting targets with Keelan Cole. Despite Blake Bortles struggling in an upset loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Westbrook managed 74 yards on four catches, his highest yardage total since Week 13. A reliable catch machine with big-play potential, Westbrook will remain an upside WR3 when the Jags face the Tennessee Titans. Lee is unlikely to be ready before the playoffs.
Tyrell Williams, Los Angeles Chargers (40 percent)
Williams took a big step backwards from last season’s breakout campaign, with just 40 catches for 661 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. He woke up a little in recent weeks, most notably posting 132 yards against Washington in Week 14. Still, Williams is a major risk even as the No. 2 receiver in a Philip Rivers offense. He has a good matchup with the Oakland Raiders as the Chargers fight for a Wild Card spot.
Josh Doctson, Washington (36 percent)
Doctson saw a whopping 13 targets against the Denver Broncos, but he got just two catches from them. On the other hand, one of those catches was a 48-yard touchdown. It’s been that kind of year for Doctson, who has game-breaking potential but hasn’t quite put it together in what’s essentially his rookie season (he missed nearly all of 2016 with an Achilles injury). He’ll be another boom-or-bust option against the New York Giants, whom he scored on in their Thanksgiving game. Doctson’s 2018 fantasy arrow will depend a lot on whether Kirk Cousins stays in D.C.
Corey Davis, Tennessee Titans (30 percent)
It’s been a frustrating rookie year for Davis, who missed most of the first half with a hamstring injury and struggled to get on the same page with Marcus Mariota. The Titans offense in general has been lackluster, which stymied the fantasy appeal of many young talents. However, Davis finally showed off his potential last week with 91 yards on six catches against the Los Angeles Rams. The Titans need more out of him when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a must-win game.
