Week 2 of the 2017 regular season is just about coming to a close with the Monday Night game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.

We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the four major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change and news arrives. The following ownership percentages come via CBS Sportsline after Week 1.
Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans (27-percent owned)
Watson is obviously a work in progress, but even with limited success on Thursday against the Bengals, he showed his ability to score points with his legs, as well as his raw arm. Consider him a stash-and-hope, and in keeper leagues, a prospect worth investing in long term.
Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams (23)
Week 2 was a pretty serious letdown for Goff, coming off his solid performance against the Colts in the season opener. He is going to have bad games as he continues to develop as an NFL quarterback, and he’s not someone you want to rely upon as a weekly starter. But in a pinch, in the right matchup, he can keep your team in the game. There are worse backup fantasy QBs out there.
Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos (20)
Well, hello, Mr. Touchdown! The Denver QB has been downright Brady-esque to start the season, becoming the first quarterback to drop four touchdown passes on the Cowboys since 2013. That gives Siemian six TD passes and a rushing touchdown in a span of seven days. Is this for real, or is Siemian Mr. September? If it’s the former, you might want to grab this guy while he’s still available.
It was pretty much the lock of the century that Kizer was going to struggle against the Ravens in Baltimore, so this poor performance is easy to ignore. Impressive was getting back in the game despite being felled by a migraine, which is a heck of a lot tougher to overcome than even the best defense. I have no doubt that Kizer is going to be a winner in this league, maybe sooner rather than later. He’s a fine backup on any fantasy squad and a must in long-term keeper leagues.
Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts (4)
Brissett was looking like the top waiver wire move of the week after the first two Colts possessions on Sunday, leading the team to 10 points. It didn’t get much better after that, and the Colts eventually lost in overtime when Brissett threw his only pick of the day. But as long as Andrew Luck is out, Brissett is going to be the guy. In terms of fantasy relevance, he’s “break glass in case of emergency.”
