Week 2 of the 2017 regular season is just about coming to a close with the Monday Night game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.

We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the four major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change and news arrives. The following ownership percentages come via CBS Sportsline after Week 1.
This addition to the waiver list is tempered by a rib injury, the severity of which we’ll never know because it’s the Patriots. But if Burkhead is able to play this week, he becomes a prime option for Tom Brady as a pass catcher, as evidenced by his touchdown grab against the Saints. The football Patriots right now are a lot like the actual Patriots, Valley Forge Painting Edition, so any healthy bodies on the waiver wire, like Phillip Dorsett, for instance, have value right now.
D’Onta Foreman, Houston Texans (29)
Freeman was a preseason star for the Texans, and he made a nice acquitting of himself against the Bengals with 40 yards on 12 carries. He paired with Watson for much of his preseason work, so there’s a familiarity there that can only help him going forward if he remains the primary backup to Lamar Miller.
What’s old is available again. With David Johnson out, Chris Johnson is in, and he was the leading back on Sunday in carries (11) and yards (44). Kerwynn Williams and Andre Ellington had 11 carries combined, for only 33 yards. This is a bit of an RBBC quagmire, but Johnson appears to be the leader at the moment.
Our handcuff pick of the week is Breida, who had just four carries on Sunday but popped off a tidy 35 yards in the process and would be the man in charge should something happen to Carlos Hyde. Breida was a standout in the preseason, so the coaching staff might see fit to increasing his reps as the backup, as well.
Beast Mode devoured his first touchdown with the Raiders on Sunday, but Richard was pretty beastly himself with a 52-yard touchdown run. Richard also had 51 receiving yards on two catches, so he was a big play happening all day. The Raiders will likely cap Lynch’s workload after his year off, so Richard will have a steady role, especially in mismatch games like this one.
