Mandatory minicamp week has come and gone as 24 teams finished up the last portion of the offseason before training camp.
How About Adam Weber As Peyton Manning’s Backup?
The three players will battle for the backup job during training camp, but for now Weber is saying all of the right things.
“A long time ago, I made a decision that I’m not going to worry about things I can’t control,” Weber said via the Denver Post. “I don’t read too much into it. As long as I get an opportunity to take a snap, I’ve got a chance.”

According to Terry McCormick, the Titans do not believe it to be a serious injury, but Wright will undergo an MRI to learn more.

The Jets have Tebow listed as their backup quarterback and he has been practicing as a QB with the second team offense, but that’s probably not his primary function with the team, and the fact that the team is asking him to add bulk is evidence of that. Tebow is up to 249 pounds, and the Jets expect him to play at 250 this season. Said Tebow, about his condition, “I’m trying to be in shape, be strong enough to do anything, but also fast enough to run around a little bit as well.”
Tebow is going to be used as a blocker on punts, and is also expected to play frequently in wildcat sets in the red zone. His biggest asset in 2011 was probably his ability to shed tackles, and a bigger version of Tebow is only going to be more effective in that aspect of his game.
