Jason Witten Has Jury Duty, Misses Cowboys Minicamp

Jason Witten missed the start of Dallas Cowboys minicamp Tuesday while doing his civic obligation and attending jury duty. Witten has never missed an offseason practice, mandatory or not, in his career entering his 10th season in the league, and probably would have kept the streak going if it wasn't a federal crime to skip out on court.

Luckily, the defendant pleaded guilty in the case, and Witten is expected to attend the afternoon portion of practice. The veteran tight end will not be fined for missing a mandatory practice.

Witten caught 79 passes for 942 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Cowboys.
