The Chiefs 2013 resurgence continued in Week 4 as they completed an undefeated opening month, while the Giants were ugly again to fall to 0-4.
Chiefs vs. Giants blog reaction

John Rieger-USA TODAY SportsThe Chiefs’ defense was once again dominant, and the Giants were out of sorts for much of the game. Kansas City is still undefeated after the win, improving to 4-0. Meanwhile, the Giants are winless and sit at 0-4. Who would have thought that would be the case a month into the season?
The folks over at Big Blue View summed up the Giants’ problems succinctly:

Jamie SquireInconsistency doomed a Giants’ offense that saw big gains and stalled drives. Manning didn’t help his team enough, giving up costly turnovers on multiple occasions.
Smith threw his first and second interceptions of the season, but the mistakes weren’t enough to derail the offense. He’s used to playing the role of game manager and mitigating the mistakes of his teammates, but on Sunday it was the ancillary cast who stepped up for Smith.

Pierre-Paul was coming off the edge when he was blocked, causing his lower-leg to bend back and his ankle to roll. He remained down on the field for some time before leaving for the sideline.
His official status update is ‘questionable,’ but there are reports the All-Pro defensive end is stretching on the sideline and appears to be okay.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY SportsInstead, it’s the Chiefs who are 3-0 and the Giants are left searching for their first win of the season. Kansas City leads the NFL in sacks and ranks fourth in takeaways. Offensively, protecting the ball is one of the top priorities and Kansas City has yet to turn the ball over.
The reasons for Kansas City’s success have also been the cause of New York’s problems. The Giants have turned the ball over a NFL-high 13 times and their 11 sacks allowed are the fourth-most in the league. New York has allowed 115 points through three games, 17 more than any other team in the league.

Streeter LeckaThe Chiefs were a popular pick to be one of the most improved teams in 2013, and they’ve lived up to the billing thus far. After a dismal 2-14 season a year ago, they’ve already surpassed 2012’s win total through three games, and new head coach Andy Reid, fresh off a victorious homecoming in Philadelphia, has the team playing sound football once again. With Colin Kaepernick suddenly struggling in San Francisco, the Chiefs move to acquire Alex Smith, who has a 94.1 rating and has yet to throw an interception through three games, is looking like an absolute steal.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY SportsLet’s take a look at both teams below.
For instance, he’s completed 61.0 percent of his passes, and has thrown four touchdowns. On top of that, he hasn’t turned the ball over. The biggest thing for a team trying to turn around their fortunes is the turnover margins. If the offense turns the ball over, then the game is already lost.
