Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson left the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday after taking a big hit from linebacker Telvin Smith, and has now been ruled out with a concussion. Johnson caught a pass in the red zone and nearly had a touchdown when he was hit from the side. The hit knocked the ball loose and knocked his helmet off while Johnson stayed down on the field.

It looked like a helmet-to-helmet hit, with Johnson getting blindsided after a crossing route. He did not move after the hit and his arms were raised slightly off the ground. Johnson was taken to the locker room, where he was evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Texans are currently tied with the Jaguars, 10-10, in the second quarter. Houston is hoping to keep its slim playoff chances alive, sitting at 6-6 on the season and two games behind the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South. Johnson is a big part of Houston's offense, with 65 receptions for 720 yards and two touchdowns on the year. He had four catches for 17 yards Sunday before leaving the game.
