Le’Veon Bell matches Walter Payton’s record

The Pittsburgh running back totaled 235 yards against Cincinnati.

It was a big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who broke the fourth quarter wide open against the Cincinnati Bengals and earned a huge 42-21 win. Running back Le'Veon Bell helped key the 25-point fourth quarter with two touchdowns.

Bell, who ran for 185 yards and added six catches for 50 yards, also achieved a major milestone. He became the second running back in NFL history to total more than 200 yards from scrimmage in three straight games, joining Bears great Walter Payton, who accomplished the feat in 1977.

In Week 12 against the Titans, Bell rushed for 204 yards and added 18 receiving yards. In Week 13 against the Saints, he gained 95 yards on the ground and grabbed eight catches for a whopping 159 yards. The second-year running back out of Michigan State has 1,231 yards rushing on the season. The Steelers (8-5) are now less than a game behind the Bengals (8-4-1) in the AFC North.
